To all you puesdo-jazz heads who think you're deep, special, and in the loop because you just happened to know who esperanza spaulding was before she miraculously won a grammy, I have something to tell you.. I heard about her, heard her songs, and was aware of her also and even I must admit while may have earned it, she didn't deserve it. This was her third album and it didn't even garner enough mainstream success to even get people to know her name at a awards based on the value of a person's name and success. No one's saying she's not talented, but at least they're too say she was not well known enough to win that award. Say what you will, and it annoys me to say this, but Beiber put in the work. They wouldn't even let her perform one of her song. Mull over that through while you think one jaz artist one that night. hint hint: Florence and the machine.
